Practical Pre-School Awards

The Learn to Write range was awarded the Silver Award at the 2009 Practical Pre-School Awards Ceremony at the University of Manchester on September 18th.

The Practical Pre-School Awards exists to identify and reward excellence in the fields of educational equipment, childcare, books and toys suitable for children aged birth to eight for use in professional childcare and educational settings. These include private and state nurseries, pre-schools, playgroups, childminders and after-school clubs.

Each product that was entered was tested in two separate settings by children and practitioners. Testers marked and provided a detailed evaluation as to the performance of a product against set criteria. This included appeal to children (at the beginning and end of the trial), durability, adaptability, educational value, play value and value for money.

"The principle behind the books is brilliant. There were clear instructions which focused on the basics and the books were easy to follow. The books provided hours of focused work with the children and really helped improvement. The colours and boxes provided good guidelines to promote correct letter and number size. Excellent value for money! We were so pleased with the simplicity of these books that we displayed them in our parents' corner to encourage parents to purchase them."
